There are over 1300 acres under irrigation in the Valle de Anton Chico.  There are two acequias: the west side, serving about 591 acres mostly up river; and the east side, serving about 736 acres, mostly down river.  Most of the land has been held for generations and it very rarely hits the open market, especially the small parcels.  When sold, it mostly goes to family, friends and neighbors.
